“Do what ever he tells you”
Wedding at Cana

Let us see the scripture St John Chapter 2 :3
“And when they ran out of wine.”
After a wedding ceremony is over, very soon the friends  relatives  and Parents wish the  Bride and Bride groom.
After that the couple walk hand in hand into the world.
Remember not  alone but with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ will walk with them every step of the way with them.
In this instant I would like you to recall the very first miracle perform by Jesus. that was the turning of water into wine at the wedding in Cana.
In St John in Chapter 2 :5 :- There was a wedding at Cana in Galilee .Jesus’ disciples were all invited together with Jesus and His mother, Mary. at the wedding they discovered that the wine had run out. The servants  told Mary that they had no more wine. Mary told Jesus about it and told the servants, “Do what ever he tells you”
Jesus instruct the servants to fill the jars with water.(St: John 2:5)
There were Six (6) big jars of 100 lts. After they filled all jars , Jesus Told them “Now draw some out and  and take it to the master of the banquet.” (St : John 2:8)
When they drew the water, it had turned into wine!
What we have to learn of this beautiful story.
There is four truths in this incident that we have to consider
Firstly – After all It’s the best day of some once life. Glories dreams of his or her future ,and build castles in the air.Every thing seems very rosy and beautiful. Joy abound oh! What a wonderful day isn’t.
This first point seems to be wicked and impolite to state the wine may run out some marriage lives. Its a fact. And if you not aware this truth you will be taken by surprise when the wine run out. It is wise to realize this truth. How ever not pleasant or acceptable to the taste or mind.
They have been living separate lives so far and now both are going to be one. It is not easy. Both have different views and  opinions. So many scarifies to be done. They have to live together to realize the truth.
Look at this example. Previously both of them have been sleeping comfortably in their own rooms. From today they are going to share one room. Let us assume that bride sees the husband opening the window at the middle of the night. She asks “why do you open the window?” He replies Oh its very worm inside. I cant sleep with the windows closed. I have from my childhood kept the windows open. So the wife is unhappy about this. She said my mother taught me from my childhood never to keep open windows at night because rogues may come in”
Now there is a practical problem which the couple never dreamt of
There are so many problems  may arise when couple start life together. from parents relatives in laws and children. Then too the wine begin to run out of a marriage
The wife may think the husband she selected is not the prince she dreamt of .like wise husband will realize that the wife is not the princess he thought of. The castle built in the air soon begin to tumble down one by one.

The second point – What is their reaction when wine had run out ?
Mary did the correct thing. She turned to Christ.
She asked Jesus “What we should do?’
When we face a problem what we should do is turn to Christ as people at Cana  did. As mentioned at the beginning that God will be walking beside us. every step of the way. HE is always with us to turn to. He will definitely help us what ever the problem. Remember we have a part to do. We should Obey his will.

Thirdly, when the people at Cana took their problem to Christ , Jesus asked them to do something. They obeyed to that command. It was not an  easy task.. Filling 600lts Those days people didn’t have  water supplied through taps. They probably draw water from a well far away. People may have carry water in buckets up and down.
They did not complained or said What humiliation is this ?.Mary simply told the servants to :Do as my son tells you” And they did as instructed by Jesus.
When the wine runs out turn to Christ. Once you turn to Christ ,He will ask you to do certain things . Some of them are not easy to carry out. But not impossible either .He knows our limitations and weakness.
What are those things?
Well all are contained in Holy Bible. Read the Bible regularly God will tell you what is required. Simple Read John 13:34
+ I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
This is not impossible.

The below passage is hard but no doubt but remember with God’s help they are not impossible either.
 “You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.” But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven;
Jesus was one hundred percent man, and if He had told us to do certain things that means He knows very well we can do. He never told us to do the impossible.
In fact Jesus has said “I tell you the truth ,anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even great things than these , because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12)
Finally the fourth point
Complaint because servants seemed to have kept the best wine to be served last
In John 2:10 says :” You have kept the best wine until now !”
The lesson we had learn from this story is that when God give , He gives the BEST
John 10 :10 reads I have come that they may have life ,and have to the full. He will be able to make out miracles in your life.
God Bless you all
