Complete and Perfect Faith

SHADRACH,MESHACH,AND ABEDNEGO
Beautiful story of Complete and Perfect Faith
Daniel Chapter 3 :17 – 18
“If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, we want you to know O king that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have setup.”
King  Nebuchandnezzar  commanded  everyone to worship the golden statue that he set up and ordered his officers, governors, and judges of the province to obey at the day of dedication of the golden statue.
This had to be done when the trumpets were blown, and those who did not respond would be thrown into a burning fiery furnace. When the trumpets were blown, all bowed down   except three young men .Names of  the three young men were Shadrach,Meshach, and Abednego.

Now this was reported to the king.He flew into a rage. Then called three of them and
King asked them is that true That you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold statue that  I have set up?
They replied “ O Nebuechadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this regard. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace ,the God we serve is able to save us from it. He will rescue us from your hand.
O King, but even if He does not we want you to know ,O King that we will not serve your gods  or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
Then King in rage ordered the army commander to heat the furnace to heat three times high than the usual and commanded the strongest men to tie the youngsters and throw in to the heat.
What happened ?
The king was amazed to find the three men unharmed by the fire.
Amazing! Their Clothes were not burnt!
What a faith!

There are three resources for our consideration.
1 Faith for the ability of God to save them. They said “
Our God is able to save us”
As we know in this world that God is able to do anything
He is the creator of heaven and earth.
But however much we believe this, when we faced with our furnace of trial we may doubt  God’s ability to save us.
2 God’s willingness
they said “And He will rescue us from you”
For example  ,If a small child asks his mother for a knife ,she may refuse. Why because it is harmful.
She is able to give but is not willing.
Suppose I am suffering from a sickness .I will pray to God for cure. I  know  that God is able to heal me .He has done it to so many, but Is He willing to heal me?
When you read St Matthew  8:2  (leper) “Lord if you are willing . you can make me heal”
The leper was confident of Jesus’ ability that is why he said “you can make me clean” But he had a doubting Jesus’ willingness and so he said “if you are willing”
Jesus said( in Matthew 8:3 )  “I am willing, be clean. And he was healed.
3 “But even if he does not, we want you to know ,O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up”
What they meant was that although God is able. and He is willing to rescue. But they do not know His working at this time.
God may not work the way we want .He may have a better plan for us. Therefore, we are prepared to leave the whole issue in the hands of God.
Shadrach,Meshach, and Abednego had a complete and perfect Faith
