2 Corinthians 12 :10- When I am weak, Then I ams strong

2 Corinthians Chapter12 ; 10
When I am Weak then I am Strong
We have so many experiences in our lives , sorrow, pain, humiliation, anger most of the times. No one can deny that he or she has not had share of these sufferings.
Let us remember few   events , such as  ill health, failure at an examination , an unemployment, Loss of property and wealth and so on. When we have to face problems, disasters we become sad, depress and weak.
“When I am weak, then I am strong” in second letter to the Corinthians Chapter 12:7 -10,  St Paul give a massage to those who are affected.

Further he goes to say’
“ 7even considering the exceptional character of the revelations. Therefore, to keep* me from being too elated, a thorn was given to me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me, to keep me from being too elated.
*8Three times I appealed to the Lord about this, that it would leave me
,9but he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power* is made perfect in weakness.’ So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
10Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.”

In many instances when a person is  weak, , sad , dejected and helpless then he seeks God.
When he prays God to make him strong from this hopeless situation, God will take action to make him Stronger.
Many of think that they are  able to provide their  own needs without help from others due to good health, wealth , Knowledge and money ,can lead a comfortable life without seeking God’s  help.

In the bible we read about a King by the name Uzziah. He became a king at the age of  sixteen. In Chronicle Chapter 23 his life story described as a young and weak, but God gradually made him strong. When you read  2 Chronicle 26:5,it says
“ 5He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.”
In verse 8 we read. ” 8The Ammonites paid tribute to Uzziah, and his fame spread even to the border of Egypt, for he became very strong.”
”In verse 15  “15In Jerusalem he set up machines, invented by skilled workers, on the towers and the corners for shooting arrows and large stones. And his fame spread far, for he was marvelously helped until he became strong.”
But in the same Chapter Verse16 says  .
“ 16 But when he had become strong he grew proud, to his destruction. For he was false to the Lord his God, and entered the temple of the Lord to make offering on the altar of incense. “
I verse 21 says
“King  Uzziah had leprosy until the day he died. He lived in a separate house –leprous, and excluded from the temple of the Lord“. When we look at our lives its how true From our Childhood God  Has given us good health, good school good education, good employment, wealth, property.
In other words HE has help us marvelously to be Strong. We can depend on our resources.
The very fact that God has made us strong can lead us to destroy if not we decline our resources.
Let us take our weakness to God and give over HIS Glory.

The Wedding at CANA

This story related to a wedding day at the Cana .After the wedding service very soon the couple went out of the church, leaving their friends, relatives, and parents who gathered there and walk hand in hand in to the world.
Remember however, they were not alone. Every step of the way The Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ walk with them.
On this day I would like you to consider the very first miracle performed by Jesus in Cana.
Lets see the story as recorded by St: John in chapter 2.
Jesus disciples were invited together with Jesus and His mother, Mary.
At the wedding they discovered that the wine had run out. The servants informed this to Mary and She told Jesus about it.
5His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’ 6Now standing there were six stone water-jars for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons.
7Jesus said to them, ‘Fill the jars with water.’ And they filled them up to the brim. 8He said to them, ‘Now draw some out, and take it to the chief steward.’ So they took it. 9When the steward tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the steward called the bridegroom 10and said to him, ‘Everyone serves the good wine first, and then the inferior wine after the guests have become drunk. But you have kept the good wine until now.’
That in brief is the story of Jesus first miracle.
We consider the truth of this incident. This will be useful to all of us  in our married life.
After all wedding day is the best day in our life. We have glories dreams of our future, built castles in air. Every thing seems very rosy and beautiful. What a wonderful day in our life.
The first point is not a happy one although I pointed out. That is like in many marriages ,soon the wine may run out of our married life too. This fact I would appreciate very much if you can understand to realize that this is a truth. It is wise to realize this truth, however unpalatable it may be.
Previously one lives so far separately and now both are going to be one. This gives so many problems, which may not have realized so far. Have to live together to realize the truth
I’ll give you an example.
Previously both been sleeping comfortably in the their own bed room . Now they are going to share one room .Let us assume that husband opening the window late night. The bride sees the husband opening the window .She asks “Why do you open the window? He replied “oh its is very stuffy inside. I can’t sleep with the widow closed. I have from child hood kept the window open. And that is my parents taught me.”
Now the wife is unhappy about this. She never thought about this before  marriage.  “My mother taught me just the opposite because thief and mischievous people  will come in.
Here is a practical problem, which the couple never even dreamt of.
This is just one example of so many practical problems that may arise when a new couple start life together. Problems may come from  parents. relatives, in-laws. Then the wine begins to run out of a marriage.
What did the people at Cana do when they found had run out?
They turned to Christ. Mary did the right thing. She asked Jesus what  thy should do?
They took their problem to Christ. He did not turn a deaf ear .
As  I mention at the beginning that God will be walking beside every step of the way. And He is ever willing to help you.
Cannot help the wine running out of any married life. When that happen and that is to turn to Christ.
And when the people at Cana took their problem to Jesus Christ ,He asked to do something. Jesus did not do a magic like a magician He asked the servants to fill six jars each about  hundred liters with water. The total six hundred  liters. In those days there were no pipe born water. They probably had to draw water from  a well situated few yards  away with buckets. Do not forget the fact  that Jesus had not performed any miracles up to that point of time.
May be servants complained and said “ What is the use of all this? People are not going to drink water at a wedding!
Did they complained so? No Mary simply told the servants , “Do whatever he tells you” and they did as instructed by Jesus.
In the second point told that when wine runs out  turn to Christ , He will ask you to do certain things .
What are the things that He requires of us ?
He knows our limitations and weakness.
Well they all are contained in the Holy Bible. Read it regularly  and read it together and God will tell us to what is required of us.
One such commandment is “That you love  one another; as I have Loved you “( John 13 :34 ). And finally, we come to this point. Complaining “ You have kept the best wine until now ”  John 2 :10
Generally it is the best win that is served first. But the servants seemed to have kept the best win until the last.
When God give  - He Gives the Best.

I am going to Father -John 14 : 12

Examining the words a man speaks , one can get an ambition or aspiration of a man's inner thoughts .Also judge the intelligence of a person.
It is a window into his mind .Great minds discuss ideas ;events and happenings.
Some people who use certain words repeatedly in their conversation. May be personal remarks .So by examining the words we can assess his whole life.
Jesus lived as a human being on earth .Theologians and scholars have examined the words spoken by Jesus in order to  get an idea of his inner thoughts.
Jesus also used one word repeatedly like most of us use to.
This word   mostly “LOVE" some say . " Kingdom of God" Some say    ." Faith”.

As recorded in the Bible , HE used this word when HE was twelve 12 years of age. Then Jesus went into the Temple in Jerusalem with his parents for the Feast of the Passover. When the parents were returning they search the child but could not find .Then they went back to the temple they found Jesus talking with elders and teachers .His mother said "Son we are searching for you "Then Jesus asked "Why  were you searching for me ? Didn't  you know I had to be in my Father's house? (Luke 2:48-49)  This  was the First Word contained  the word "Father".

Then consider the last words of Jesus When HE was in the cross uttered seven words and last word was " Father, into your hands I commit my spirit" (Luke 23:46).

There was no prayer that he made that did not with the word Father, Our father, which art in heaven ( Matthew  6 : 9 )
There are three important truth in the life of Jesus  Christ that I have to mention. First is ,He came from the Father. When you look at the gospel
Of St Johns with these words “In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God.” When God created the heaven and earth and every thing there in ,Jesus was with the Father. Then with the fall of man God sent His only begotten Son to redeem the fallen  human race .St Johns Chapter3 verse 16
Therefore the first lesson that we learn is that Jesus was with the Father from he beginning and that He came to this world from Father.

In Jeremiah Chapter 1 : 5 says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you “ What ever our religion , race or colour  , we have all come from Father .We all are the children of one Father and therefore we belongs to one family

This world is creation of the Father. None of us is born into this world by accident. It is the Father who has sent us.

Second lesson as William Barclay ,the great theologian has this to say. There are two important days in mans life. The first is the day that he is born into this world
The second is the day that he discovers why he is born into the world.
We have to look at the life of Jesus to find the answer to this.
He knew that he had come to do His father’s will. In St John 6 : 38 says “For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of Him who sent me”
The second lesson we learn is that we are born into this world to do our Father’s will. Where ever you may reside , God  has kept you there to do his will in that Place. Where ever you may be employed , Go has placed you there to do His will there.
Very often when  we try to  do our Father’s will people will misunderstand  us. We may not go to some notorious places or do not look at certain things , or not doing bad things, do not want to accumulate unnecessary wealth. We cannot comply with their request if in this world we are doing our Father’s will.
Third lesson  as Jesus told the disciples “I tell you the truth ,anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He  will do even greater things than these ,because I am going to father.” (St John 14:12 )

Firstly  we learnt that Jesus came from the Father
Secondly , while on earth He was doing the will of Father.
Thirdly Jesus says after His death , He will be going to the Father.

‘ Life ‘ describe  as follows
The  Poets  tells us that human life can be compared to flower.
It  blooms, it lives  for short while and then it withers.
The poet cannot tell us what will happen to man after his death.

The atheist  believes in only what is sees. He sees a man being born, sees him living and dying after death  he says the man become dust and that is the end of man.
Buddhist explain  life is another way. Their teaching is that a man death he will be reborn into another world  and so this cycle of life will go on until he reaches the stage of Nirvana, where man will cease to exit.
We Christians describe life in the following manner: Man is sent by Father, he lives a short life on earth doing the will of the Father and one day when he dies, he goes back to Father.

We note Jesus encountered three fears  while on the cross.
1 Physical pain
2 The pain of leaving behind His Loved ones , Disciples and  His  Mother
3 regard the third category of pain He was able to overcome it because He knew where He was going. As his last word
He uttered from the Cross , “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit”
9 Luke 23: 46 )
Death is certain to come to all of us. Sooner or later we will be going HOME.
There are three important truth.
1 We have come from  the Father
2 We are living for  the Father.
3 We will be going to Father some day.

Forgive Others as God Has Forgiven You

Scripture:

“A man loaned money to two people—500 pieces of silver to one and 50 pieces to the other. But neither of them could repay him, so he kindly forgave them both, canceling their debts. Who do you suppose loved him more after that?” Luke 7:41-42 (NLT)

When Jesus had a meal with fault finding person Jesus express this story show that person to understands debt and receives forgiveness will have great love for the one who forgives,  regard for God’s forgiveness.

Jesus tells another story about a man who loaned money to two people and then cancels both debts. (Luke 7:41-42) One person owed more money than the other, so Jesus asked “Who do you suppose loved him more after that?” Simon answers, “the one who had the bigger debt forgiven,” and Jesus agrees (Luke 7:43).

Jesus said, “a person who is forgiven little shows only little love” (Luke 7:47).
God is perfect, holy and righteous. Any sin against Him deserves punishment, but He canceled our debt. When it’s time to forgive others, remember the huge debt of sin God canceled for you and forgive.
 Need Forgiveness all of us.
Many people don’t think they need forgiveness. They might think, that their  sins are small .Never committed murder or adultery.
But God has a higher standard. Jesus tells us that even being angry with another makes us guilty of murder, and looking lustfully at someone is equivalent to adultery (Matthew 5:21-22; Matthew 5:28).
22But I say to you that if you are angry with a brother or sister,* you will be liable to judgement; and if you insult* a brother or sister,* you will be liable to the council; and if you say, “You fool”, you will be liable to the hell* of fire. 23So when you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that your brother or sister* has something against you,24leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister,* and then come and offer your gift
28But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart
This shows we all need forgiveness. The Bible goes on to say, “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard” (Romans 3:23). And, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

Forgive Others Because Christ Forgave You (Ephesians 4:32)
He forgave us. We should treat others the exact same way.

When we forgive others, it is a small picture of God’s forgiveness.
“Because God has forgiven my sins through Jesus Christ, I am able to forgive you

Prayer, Care, and Share Jesus

There’s nothing wrong with feeling angry in your loss. Jesus understands your pain and anger because He suffered on your behalf. Because of the sacrifice He made for you, and the forgiveness He has already granted you, Jesus asks you to forgive people who bring hurt and pain into your life.

Start praying the Lord's blessing on the person that you need to forgive.
